Fishers Ghyll

Fishers Ghyll – St. Johns in the Vale

Fisher Ghyll Scramble:

Located in the beautiful valley of St. Johns in the vale, Fisher ghyll scramble is a secluded ghyll and is definitely quieter than other more popular choice ghyll scrambles.

We go from bottom to top on this route, and you can adjust it in different ways. You can start with the basic trip from the car park to the bridge. Likewise we can make this longer if time allows and throw in a couple of abseils down the water falls!

Fisherplace – Fisher Ghyll

Fisher Ghyll Scramble is a thrilling outdoor adventure that promises a mix of excitement and natural beauty. Nestled in a picturesque location, this scramble offers a unique blend of challenges, with participants navigating through pools, rocky steps, and small waterfalls. As you ascend, a rough slab adds an extra element of difficulty, creating an adrenaline-pumping experience. The route is flexible, allowing both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts to tailor the journey to their preferences. From the car park to the bridge and beyond, Fisher Ghyll Scramble provides a memorable exploration of nature’s wonders, making it an ideal choice for those seeking an exhilarating outdoor escapade.

Fisher Ghyll:

After this, the Ghyll gains height, moving through pools, steps, and small waterfalls. It then ascends a rough slab, which, in high water, may wash out and requires bypassing because it’s too tricky to stand on. Usually it’s just a matter of sticking to the right and keeping weight through the feet. Of course some helping, assisting from the instructor and yourselves always helps massively! Thereafter we get to a small or  medium jump which is always a fave with kids and adults a like! Once the bridge is reached we can continue up depending on time/fatigue levels, or we can take the lovely well trodden path down to the car park.

Duration:

Fisher Ghyll Scramble – Firstly Fisher Ghyll is a large ghyll! We will be in the ghyll for around 2 hours. Besides it going from bottom to top, this can be run in reverse to give an amazing Canyon trip! In addition to this it has some really long abseils down water falls. For this you would have needed to have done some Canyoning before.
