Scrambling in the Lake District:

I’m not sure now how many Scrambling in the Lake District courses we have run over the years, but it’s a lot! We have literally helped lots of people get underway, or learn and build on their existing skill set in the world of scrambling. In fact it is possibly our best selling course – See Here

Firstly our Scrambling in the Lake District courses are obviously held in the Lakes, but we are not tied to here. We regularly run days and courses from Wales and Scotland. Some of the pictures you may recognise in the gallery above are of Curved Ridge on Buchaille Etive Mor – Glencoe Scotland.

We have guided on all of the routes listed below. Some more than others.

Some classics include:

All year round 365:

As with all our courses, they are run ALL year, and on dates to suit you! Our Scrambling in the Lake District pages will give you an idea of what can and will be covered. But we offer a flexible approach and can add and subtract anything from our courses, or maybe something that you would like to cover.

Mentioned above are some of the well known scrambles throughout the UK, but we often use lesser known scrambles too. You can often find that some of the more less frequented routes can be just as good. For example making different variations up when out and about can create an awesome experience or a great ‘link up’

Make room for the hidden gems:

Last year I explored the scramble that is Scale Gill. What a mini adventure! It doesn’t even get a mention in a lot of scrambling guides/forums. But been one to go my own way – Bit like Fleetwood Mac did in the 80’s. I found it to be great fun. It was the sort of scramble that suited the old school approach or socks over boots. (See picture) This is a sort of scramble that you wouldn’t want to do in a flood! Else you’d need a wetsuit. But it made a good challenge avoiding some of the pools and scrambling up the tight mini waterfall sections.

Whatever your bag:

To conclude. There are hundreds of great scrambles up and down the UK. Therefore it does not have to be confined to Scrambling in the Lake District – Although this is our base as mentioned, it can also be anywhere in the UK. Whatever your bag is, classics, a repeat of something you’ve done years ago, or something off the beaten track. We can help.
